When to plan seasonal HVAC care
- You do not know when the system was last serviced.
- Airflow, sound, or room comfort has changed since the last season.
- Filters are overdue or equipment access is blocked.
AC maintenance and furnace tune-up planning
Maintenance is a chance to look at how your equipment is operating and discuss changes before the next heavy-use season. It is different from a repair call for a system that has already stopped. We provide HVAC maintenance for heating and cooling equipment. Share the system type and any recent concerns when you request a visit.
A useful maintenance record starts with basic details. Keep the model information, filter size, and dates of past service in one place. Add a short note when you hear a new sound or notice a room getting less air. Those notes help distinguish a recent change from an issue that has been present for several seasons.
Filter care is one of the tasks many homeowners can handle. Follow the equipment guide for the correct type and schedule. Pets, dust, and how often the system runs can affect how quickly a filter gets dirty. Turn the equipment off as directed before handling the filter. If access requires opening service panels, ask for help instead.
Outside, keep stored items and vegetation from blocking airflow around the unit. Do not place covers over running equipment. Avoid bending fins or spraying electrical parts while cleaning nearby areas. After storms, look from a safe distance for branches or debris. If something has struck the unit, describe the damage before using it again.
Inside, make sure supply and return grilles are open and clear. A rug or a new sofa can change airflow without any equipment failure. Check that the thermostat schedule still matches your routine. If the house is empty at different times now, review settings using the controls guide instead of making large changes that are hard to compare.
Planning ahead can make it easier to discuss your needs, but maintenance is not a promise that equipment will never stop. Parts can fail between visits. If you have no heat, no cooling, a leak, or a safety concern, describe that as a service problem when you call. Do not wait for routine care to address a hazard.
Ask what work is proposed for your specific system. Furnaces, heat pumps, central AC, and mini-splits do not all have the same service needs. Tell us about access limits or equipment in an attic. After a visit, keep any findings with your records and ask what changes you should watch for before the next season.

Customer Reviews
On July 4th, one of the hottest days of the week, and an Holiday, our A/C decided to stop working and we had 20 people coming over for a party. Chad, from Right A Way, arrived within an hour of our phone call and got our A/C back up and running in no time. Speedy and professional! Thank you all!
I had a perfect experience with Right A Way Heating and Cooling. My AC stopped working. I called Right A Way on the recommendation of a friend. Customer service on the phone was excellent & I was given an appointment about ~24 hours later. They kept me up to speed about the appointment via text. The HVAC tech (Matt R.) was professional & knowledgeable. He showed me the issue, walked me through the solution & answered my questions. *Most importantly: he had the problem fixed & my AC was working perfectly again in less than an hour. Pricing was fair & payment was taken via credit card immediately. I can't recommend Right A Way enough. They've got my business, and recommendation, in the future.
Called Brad with Right A Way Heating and Air on a Sunday for my father's house to have a new HVAC system put into his home that never had one. He responded quickly and was out on the job with his crew and had it finished in just a few days after the initial call. Very clean install and his crew was very knowledgeable and detail-oriented. They all answered every question my father had and his price on top of it all was on point. My father and I were very happy doing business with them and would recommend Right A Way Heating and Air to anyone looking for clean, efficient, and professional HVAC services in the Frederick County area.
I cannot recommend Right-A-Way Heating & Cooling enough! Teresa is a rock star and is pleasant every time she answers the phone. Chad and Brad's professionalism, efficiency, and expertise exceeded my expectations. The team was prompt, courteous, and went above and beyond to ensure that my cooling system was working perfectly and faster than expected. I am truly impressed with their service and would not hesitate to call them again for any future needs.
What a great company when it comes to your heating and air conditioning needs. They will be there when you need them and act appropriately to any situation without costing you an arm and leg to do it. The integrity piece for me is the thing that I care about the most and the company has the highest integrity individuals working for them. I would recommend and call them whenever you need a replacement or just service.
We have an annual maintenance agreement with Right-A-Way. They just recently came to perform our heat tune up. They are always so kind, thorough, and professional. My husband and I highly recommend them for all of your HVAC needs!
I called Brad after 10 (TEN!!) companies were unable to help when I needed a new AC unit installed. Brad came out within 2 days, and I had my new AC installed 2 business days after that. The job was done in less than 3 hours. Friendly, knowledgeable, responsive. He'll be the only one we call for heating and AC from now on. Very happy that my friend recommended him to us. Thanks, Brad!
We rest easy, knowing that Right A Way takes care of our HVAC system. They are reliable, easy to work with, readily available, prompt, and have kept our system running in pristine condition for years. I would never use anyone else.
HVAC maintenance questions
How often should I change my filter?
Follow the equipment guide and check the filter regularly. Dust, pets, and system use can affect how quickly it becomes dirty.
Is maintenance the same as a repair?
No. If the system has stopped or is leaking, describe the active problem so the request is treated as a service concern.
What should I prepare for maintenance?
Clear safe access, gather past service notes, and list changes in noise, airflow, or room comfort.
Does maintenance prevent every breakdown?
No. Routine care can help track equipment condition, but parts may still fail between visits.
No heat or no AC?
Call to discuss your system and current service availability.
